| Breaking News | | Saturday, July 29th, 2000: Philadelphia-Mount Airy Free-for-All Gets 6-Game Suspensions If there wasn't a history between Kevin Ingram of Philadelphia and Bob Larson of Mount Airy, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 6 games as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Ingram said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
So far this year Ingram has 5 home runs and a .242 batting average.
Looking at his season stats, Larson has won 11 and lost 6, collecting 118 strikeouts and 50 walks in 152.1 innings with a 3.72 ERA. | | Thursday, July 27th, 2000: Sam Turner to Miss 7 Weeks Sam Turner of the Mount Airy Marauders was injured in today's game against Carolina and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a hyperextended labrum muscle and he is expected to be out for up to 7 weeks. It happened while Turner was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."
In 2000, Turner has a 10-5 mark in 21 starts with a 3.55 ERA. He has given up 128 hits in 152 innings, struck out 153 and issued 43 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .225 batting average against him. | | Sunday, July 16th, 2000: Mount Airy Snaps O'Mulloy's Streak at 22 Late in the game Aguilas first baseman Will O'Mulloy stepped into the batter box with his 22-game hitting streak on the line. Up to then he was without a hit. Sadly it just wasn't to be -- O'Mulloy did not get a hit -- and his streak was finally over. The Marauders had stopped him, not allowing him a hit in 3 at-bats. However, Mexico City won the game 4-3.
"Winning the game took some of the disappointment out of it," O'Mulloy told reporters in the clubhouse. "Looking back on it, it was a great experience. Not too many players can say they had a hit in 22 straight games. It's something I will always remember."
In 2000 O'Mulloy has hit at a .345 clip with 96 hits, 18 home runs, 58 RBIs and has scored 48 times. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Sam Turner | hyperextended labrum muscle | 7 weeks | Not on DL | | CF Curtis Nichols | possible ruptured disc (back) | 4-5 months | On DL, eligible for return (60-day DL) | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 59-45, .567 PCT | | Position in Division | 2nd, 5.0 GB | | Record at home | 26-28, .481 PCT | | Record on the road | 33-17, .660 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 8-3, .727 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 16-16, .500 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 14-10, .583 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 45-35, .562 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 10-14, .417 PCT | | Record in May | 17-11, .607 PCT | | Record in June | 16-11, .593 PCT | | Record in July | 16-9, .640 PCT |
