"No offense meant to Kansas City, but I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Wallace Field!"
The Chicago right fielder had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 6 at-bats and pacing his club to a 19-2 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Armando worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," Sierra said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
A. Sierra flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
In 1996 Sierra has produced 102 hits in 394 at-bats for a .259 average with 7 home runs and gotten on base at a .383 clip. | | Friday, September 20th, 1996: Hot Bat of Parker Burns Clippers History in the making.
