| Breaking News | | Monday, July 31st, 2000: Mauro Solís Captures HL Award Mauro Solís is respected by most Chicago Bleacher Bums fans for his no-frills style of play. The 23-year-old left fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Hoboken League Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .520 average (13-25) with 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and 8 runs scored.

Nonetheless the Chicago second baseman was pure misery for the Las Vegas pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"It's always good to get a bunch of hits in a game, but you also want to win. That's the important thing," Hennessey said.
The manager of the Stars told BNN reporters after the game, "Hennessey put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw him some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
J. Hennessey singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Hennessey's current batting average stands at .286 and he has chalked up 4 home runs and 37 RBIs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 50-56, .472 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 16.0 GB | | Record at home | 30-26, .536 PCT | | Record on the road | 20-30, .400 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-9, .250 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 12-18, .400 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 12-13, .480 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 38-43, .469 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in April | 11-14, .440 PCT | | Record in May | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in June | 13-15, .464 PCT | | Record in July | 11-14, .440 PCT |
