Friday, September 20th, 1996: Hot Bat of Parker Burns Clippers
History in the making. That's what the fans at Wallace Field got to see today, when Chicago outplayed the Clippers 8-4. Peter Parker of the Bleacher Bums came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against Columbus.

In the postgame press conference the Columbus skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink."

P. Parker hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.

Parker is presently hitting at a .259 pace with 7 home runs and 64 RBIs. He has played in 121 games and scored 56 times.
