| Breaking News |  | Saturday, July 22nd, 2000: Sánchez Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak The Columbus Clippers stopped the Vancouver Totems today 7-4 and Francisco Sánchez was able to hit safely again. The Columbus right fielder got 1 hit and ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20.
Sánchez was excited after the victory and told the press, "I want to get a hit every time up. I want to get a hit every game I play. I want to win every game for the greatest fans in the world, Clippers fans!" F. Sánchez grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.

Both combatants will receive 3-game suspensions because of their confrontation.
