| Breaking News | | Friday, June 26th, 1998: Cipriano Rosado Blanks El Paso It was a masterful game today for Cipriano Rosado. This year Rosado has compiled a 3-0 record with a 1.93 ERA in 5 starts. | | Wednesday, June 24th, 1998: Hit Streak Over, Howl Stop Solís The 24-game hitting streak of 21-year-old catcher Pedro Solís came to an end today at Shell Rock Grounds. The Howl held him hitless in 3 at-bats and also sent the Kingman Dust Devils down to defeat 5-3.
So far this season Solís has gotten 70 hits in 246 at-bats for a .285 batting average with 2 home runs. His stats include 31 RBIs and 21 runs scored. He has played in 65 games. | | Sunday, June 7th, 1998: Hits Galore: Medina Drills 6 Hits It seemed that Cambridge left fielder José Medina could do no wrong as the Howl kayoed the Iguanas 14-1 today as he rapped out 6 hits in 6 at-bats. Inverness pitchers couldn't get him out as Medina seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Howl were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Inverness fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," exclaimed the jubilant Medina in the postgame press interview.
J. Medina singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Ramos in the 8th.
Medina is batting at a .345 pace in 1998, picking up 40 hits in 116 at-bats with 2 home runs, 16 RBIs and 22 runs scored. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 40-41, .494 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 14.0 GB | | Record at home | 21-18, .538 PCT | | Record on the road | 19-23, .452 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-0, 1.000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 9-14, .391 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 12-11, .522 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 28-30, .483 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 12-16, .429 PCT | | Record in May | 15-14, .517 PCT | | Record in June | 13-11, .542 PCT |
