Sunday, June 28th, 1998: Torres Belts Bunch of Base Hits
"It was almost like batting practice. I saw the ball very well and could just about hit it anywhere I wanted." That's what South Bend shortstop Ángel Torres said to BNN reporters after his fantastic 5-5 day against the Cuernavaca Altepetl at Wranglers Ballpark. "I got some good counts and used the whole field."

The Bad Boys had a good day, too, and won the ballgame 12-4.

Á. Torres doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off M. Mills in the 7th, was hit by a pitch in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

Thus far in 1998 Torres is hitting .325 with 2 home runs, 28 RBIs, 30 runs scored and has compiled a .385 OBP.
Sunday, June 7th, 1998: Fisher Big Deal in Alexandria: Hits for Cycle
The Alexandria fans had a lot to cheer about today as Edward Fisher hit for the cycle en route to a 4-3 victory over the South Bend Bad Boys. The 22-year-old left fielder led the way with 2 RBI and 4 hits.

E. Fisher tripled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off P. Brown in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th.

For 1998 Fisher is batting .284 with 2 home runs, 34 RBIs and 28 runs scored.
Monday, June 1st, 1998: Winters Picks Up Best HLAA Batter Honors for May
For a rookie just breaking in, John Winters certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the HLAA Batter of the Month award for May.

The 25-year-old right fielder for the South Bend Bad Boys hit .354 with 10 home runs, 31 RBIs and 23 runs scored.

So far this season Winters is batting .280 with 13 home runs.
