The Senators defeated the Giants 12-10 to take a little of the glitter of the occasion away.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 25-year-old second baseman lamented, "To get 5 hits and win a ballgame, that would have been a very special day. But we didn't win today. It's not easy to be happy when you lose. Only losers do that."
In all, Carson collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats and a spot in the record book.
T. Carson singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off J. Stewart in the 9th.
Presently Carson is batting .331 with 85 hits and 2 home runs. He has knocked in 27 runs and scored 38 times. | | Monday, June 1st, 1998: Senators Hurler Named CLAAA's #1 Starter In May, Iván Menéndez tore through the Cooperstown League like a seasoned veteran -- quite impressive for a player only 21 years old.
