| Breaking News |  | Friday, May 1st, 1998: CLAAA Announces Best Pitcher for April
Truman Lynch has made fans throughout PCBL Triple A take notice over the past month with an exceptional 4-0 record. No pitcher in the Cooperstown League threw better in April, garnering him the Pitcher of the Month award today.
In 5 starts Lynch compiled a 1.60 ERA, putting up a 4-0 record, striking out 36 and tossing 39.1 innings.

 | Saturday, April 11th, 1998: Columbia Loses García for Year
Félix García will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and stated the Columbia third baseman could miss the remainder of the year. García was injured while being hit by a pitch in the Butchers-Wildcats clash at San Bernardino Fields recently. Doctors said he has a fractured skull and would be out a minimum of 8 months.
This season in 10 games García is batting .409 with 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and has scored 4 times.

 | Saturday, August 9th, 1997: Gallegos Batters Columbia Big Time!
The Padres whipped the Butchers 9-2 at Ballpark of Garland and Roberto Gallegos had a big hand in the win. The Padres right fielder came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Gallegos and a tough day for Columbia.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Gallegos delivered today -- 5-5 is outstanding in any league.
R. Gallegos singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
Thus far this year Gallegos is hitting .358 with 6 home runs, 40 RBIs and 32 runs scored.
