Breaking News
Saturday, June 13th, 1998: Lee Shackles Reddick
An efficient outing for Dave Lee usually means a win for Santa Fe. Today was no exception, as the 27-year-old starter held Reddick to a long line of goose eggs. He struck out 3 and gave up 6 hits in the 3-0 shutout.

This year Lee has a 7-6 record with a 4.65 ERA in 15 starts.
Wednesday, May 27th, 1998: McLeverty Baffles Calgary
He didn't put a spell on them. It wasn't black magic, it was just old-fashioned good pitching. That's how B.J. McLeverty of the Reddick Rattlers blanked the Calgary Firebirds 3-0.

After tossing a complete-game 3-hit shutout, he was all smiles, saying, "I threw a lot of my pitches for strikes in this game. I mixed it up and tried keeping these guys off balance."

His own skipper said, "He's at his best when he gets ahead of the hitters." McLeverty walked 2 and struck out 8 in the victory.

The Firebirds manager commented on their lack of success against him, saying, "He was throwing his breaking ball for strikes and we never capitalized on any of his mistakes."

In the 1998 season McLeverty has recorded a 3-1 mark. In 7 starts he has fanned 35 batters in 50 innings with a 1.62 ERA.
Sunday, May 24th, 1998: Payne Tosses Shutout Against Syracuse
Randy Payne proved to be just what the Rattlers needed to silence the Syracuse bats. He allowed only 3 hits and led Reddick to an impressive 7-0 victory. For the game, Payne registered 10 strikeouts and 3 walks.

So far this season Payne has a 5-1 record with a 1.54 ERA.
