Youth was served last week as 19-year-old Jim Ryan put together a remarkable stretch on the mound, outpacing all other Cooperstown League pitchers and hitters to win Player of the Week honors.
The Tuxtla Gutierrez Conejos Traviesos hurler rang up 24 strikeouts in 18 innings, compiling an ERA of 0.50 and posting a fine 2-0 mark.
So far this year Ryan has 4 wins and 6 losses and a 2.46 ERA.

His hard work and hustle paid off this week. The hard-working and hard-playing Francisco Ramírez was rewarded with the Hoboken League Player of the Week honors.
The scrappy Lexington Generals first baseman hit .529 while collecting 9 hits in 17 at-bats, 2 home runs and 7 RBIs.
Currently Ramírez has 5 home runs and a .333 batting average.

At Shooters Ballpark today Inverness dropped a 13-0 decision to Nick Gogearty and the Sparta Warriors. The Iguanas offered little resistance to Gogearty, who stopped them on 5 hits, fanned 1 and walked 3.
