PCBL Triple A News Article | |  | Monday, July 7th, 1997: Robles Breezes to Shutout Victory Sandro Robles of the Cincinnati Samurai was on top of his game today. He tantalized the Fort Worth Falcons with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest and came away with a 6-0 shutout.
In the postgame comments, the Fort Worth skipper said, "He had the changeup working. You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."
The Cincinnati hurler had 1 strikeout, gave up 1 walk and surrendered 3 hits in his complete game effort.
Robles told reporters after the game, "To be successful in this league, you have to keep the ball down. If you don't, they'll make you pay."
On his stats sheet this season Robles shows a 9-3 record, 16 starts, 114.2 innings, 18 strikeouts and a 3.45 ERA. | |
