 | Tuesday, September 3rd, 1996: Bleacher Bums and Montoya Agree on Extension Sources familiar with dealings between Jesús Montoya and Chicago report that the two sides have pushed aside their differences and worked out an extension. The 31-year-old agreed to a $11,725,719 deal that will have him playing at Wallace Field for the next 3 years. Over the season Montoya has thrown 139.1 innings and dished out 82 strikeouts with a 9-9 mark and a 3.88 ERA. |
