 | Tuesday, August 27th, 1996: Third Baseman Preston Manley Hurt Watching Preston Manley getting helped off the field today at Arthur Bryant Field, fans of the Kansas City Brahmas feared the worst. The news wasn't quite as bad as initially feared, but the third baseman will miss 2 weeks with a sprained ankle. "We feel we've dodged a bullet. When you see a guy break down like that, you worry right away," a team spokesman said. Manley suffered the injury running the bases in the game against the Ninja. This season Manley has banged out 61 hits in 267 at-bats for a .228 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .354 pace and his totals also include 32 RBIs and 39 runs scored. |
