Saturday, July 26th, 1997: Alex Riddle Injured, Out of Lineup
The Toronto Dogs were dealt a serious blow when the team learned that Alex Riddle was likely to be out for 1-2 weeks after he injured himself making a defensive play in today's game against the Seattle Loggers. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a fractured finger. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Toronto manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries--they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Alex is back in action."

This season in 70 games Riddle is batting .227 with 4 home runs, 27 RBIs and has scored 36 times.
